Clubbed to Death

So many clubs and so many choices. Students get overextended in club work all the time. Here at Ariton we have so many clubs to choose from, such as, FFA, Christian Club, Math Club and Team, Junior & Senior Beta, FBLA, Cat Chat, Yearbook, Junior varsity, varsity, or junior high athletics, Diamond Dears, Mu Alpha Theta, A Club, Choir, Cat Reps, and lastly Elementary and High School SGA. You have to choose wisely which clubs you want to participate in, even if you want to do everything. You will over work yourself if you try everything at once. Even though clubs look great on college applications, you can overextend yourself and not have any time that you can totally devote to yourself. One student, Rebecca Lomaneck, says “There are so many options, and I get worried that I can’t do everything at once.”

You may feel the need to join everything possible, but the truth is you don’t need to get way over your head and drown yourself in all these responsibilities, that you cannot possibly handle. If you play a sport, you may need to just stick to what your good at, sports. Or if you want to be in a club you can join what you think you’re good at and stay there. There is always something one person is good at, and somebody else may not be that good. Everybody deserves a chance to do or to be what they have always dreamed to be. Clubs give us the opportunity to follow our heart’s desires.
