Chattahoochee Man Identified

The body that was found floating in the Chattahoochee river on Wednesday, September 21st, has been identified as former southeast Alabama youth director Gerald Love.

Early county Coroner Todd Hunter identified him as Gerald Love, 77, of Houston County. Love was found in the Chattahoochee River around 10:00 a.m.

His cause of death is yet to be determined and the case remains open. Hunter Stated that “we think he was just fishing. There seems to be no sign of foul play.” Hinter also stated that the body would be turned over to the Georgia Bureau of investigation for autopsy. The Houston county chairman Mark Culver said Love was a devoted public servant who helped grow southeast Alabama youth services.
