Highway 231 Hit and Run

Chief James Gresham, of the newton police force, says they have identified the victim of the hit and run accident on Alabama highway 123, as being 23 year old, Justin lee Wallace of Daleville.

“It’s classified as a hit and run, because the driver left the scene, resulting in a death.” Chief Gresham reported. “He was walking northbound on 123 when he was hit by a red Ford f-150 pickup”

The incident is said to have occurred around 7:30 p.m. Gresham has said that the police have identified the driver of the truck as 53 year old Sammy Littlefield Jr. of Clio.

Police have talked to the driver that struck and killed the young man, but no one has been charged at the time.

Gresham has said that once the investigation is complete then they will hand it to the Dale County District Attorney’s office.
