Ariton suffers defeat to Samson

Ariton played against Samson on October 21 at Zumestein Stadium in Ariton. Ariton started off the game extremely hopeful, as a win would result in Ariton hosting the playoffs.

At the start of the first quarter, Samson scored a touchdown. The purple cats kept their heads held high and made a touch down by the end of the second quarter.

During the third quarter, Samson started making touch downs and getting ahead of the purple cats. The cats tried to come back, but the final score was Samson 28 and Ariton 17.

“I thought it was a hard fought game, the boys tried their best, but Samson edged us out.” Jericho Green, a junior at Ariton reported after the game.

Playoffs will now be in Washington County instead of Ariton.
