On November 7th 2016, several Arizona police officers hunted down a gunman after a shooting in front of a local fast food restaurant that resulted in the killing a fellow officer.
Officer Darrin Reed was shot and later pronounced dead at a local hospital hours after the shooting.
“Thank you to everyone who has expressed their concern and shown their support.” Said a Show Low police officer. “Officer Reed was not only a husband, a father and a police officer; he was a member of our community who will be sorely missed.”
Police have identified the suspect as Daniel Erickson 36 years old. Officers say Erickson was dressed in a black leather trench coat and was reportedly armed leaving a Show Low hotel in a dark vehicle with an Arizona license plate.
Police say Erickson has been known to use other aliases and is considered armed and dangerous. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.
