Shooting of Two Police Officers


On Wednesday, December 07, 2016, a Georgia police officer was shot dead and another was placed in “very, very critical” condition after the officers responded to a domestic violence dispute that morning. The officer that was killed is a member of the Americus police department, and the one who was badly injured is a public safety officer with Georgia Southwestern State University.

The Georgia officers were both shot while responding to a domestic violence dispute at an apartment complex around 9:30 a.m.

The Albany police department has identified there suspect as Minguell Kennedy Lembrick who is 32 years old. The suspect still remains on the run.

With the shooting happening next to Georgia Southwestern State University the school which has over 2,500 people is on lockdown.
